Ready to Harvest

Elder David Bitner has officially begun his 2 year service for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We are so proud of him and his willingness to serve. He is such a wonderful example to us and our boys. Lucas said it well at breakfast this morning. When David asked if Lucas was sad that he was leaving, Lucas said "No, I'm just going to miss you." We are all going to miss him dearly, but are so excited for him to begin this next journey he has chosen to take. Russia is sure in for a treat!

Em, I love your blog. The pictures are great. What a wonderful memory to have. Thanks so much for coming and spending this special time. I know it meant a lot to David. He was so happy this morning when I told him Brian was coming.

One of the guys I know from teaching institute here also just entered the MTC on Wed. to begin a Russian-speaking mission (not Moscow, but some other place with a really long name). His name is Elder Winkler, and he doesn't speak much English (German is his native tongue), so I have been worried about him in the MTC. I love to think of him and David being in the same district. I hope Elder Winkler has seen the "Bitner" on David's tag and made the connection. Do you know how I could send a note to David in the MTC? If you do, would you mind emailing me the info? jilllb@hotmail.com. David is such a great guy, and I'm sure he'll be an amazing missionary. What an exciting time for your boys to see the MTC. I bet Lucas will always remember his first visit to the MTC to see Uncle David off!

Very cool - what part of Russia? That is where Adam and my parents served. We were able to go when my parents finished and travel around some - it was a wonderful place! I'm sure he will LOVE it!
